Online Learning

Self-paced instruction, Skype, group forums and other communication tools enhance the ability to present content in different ways.  Flexibility allows learners to work when and where they want, making online learning an effective medium.

Students can log on to the learning platform any time.  Each assignment is completed before moving onto the next component.  Each course has an outline for every topic.  Your written assignments and discussions are completed from your own computer using the internet.  

Online courses are not easier than on site, online courses are just presented in different formats. Do not underestimate the time commitment, pace and demands of an online course. Because of the flexibility of online courses, time management is required for student success.

To participate in online courses, you must have access to a computer and arrange your own high-speed internet access.

Your virtual attendance is recorded.  The learning platform indicates when you log on and off, what assignments you have completed and submitted, and when.  Your electronic and verbal participation in online discussions and other activities among students and instructors indicates your involvement in the course. 

Online learning provides opportunities to get acquainted with other people involved in the class.  Online learning involves a lot of interaction with your instructor and classmates via Skype, email, forums and more.
